Dec 22, 2015- The construction of Kalikot-Hilsa-Humla track of the Karnali Corridor has picked momentum ever since the Nepal Army took the responsibility of the project in March.
Even though a majority of the development activities have come to a halt after the Indian blockade, the Karnali Corridor project has been progressing without any obstructions. Besides NA soldiers, the local people are also involved in the national pride project.
The NA has taken up the responsibility of completing the 196 kilometre corridor road within 5 years. It is currently working at Khulalu-Rengil section of the road. Lt Col Indiwar Gurung said Rs 190 million have been allocated for the project this year. CPN-UML lawmaker Tularaj Bista said the government will continue the project, keeping it as a top priority. People from Bajura, Mugu, Kalikot and Humla will benefit from the road.
