Dec 9, 2015- Chief Commissioner of The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) Lokman Singh Karki has vowed to continue the corruption investigation against 29 individuals even if it cost him his job.
Karki, while speaking at a programme to mark the International Anti-Corruption Day on Wednesday, said there were various other names that will be dragged for investigation. He claimed the anti-graft body’s decision to summon 29 high-profile politicians, bureaucrats and civil society leaders for interrogation in potential corruption charges was in accordance to law. “It will not stop at any cost,” said Karki.
Karki was also averse to the objection made against the anti-graft body for summoning 29 persons for interrogation. “Summoning for interrogation does not mean that they are guilty. Their guilt will be proven only after the investigation,” he said. Karki said it was not right to object to the CIAA’s investigation.
“This may cost me my job but the investigation will go ahead,” he vowed.
